The Interview with Anna Nicole Lee Kunze

     Where do your first and middle names come from?
      Nicole:  Anna is for my Great Grandma Rhoda Annie Paskett Lee, but I believe that's a happy coincidence instead of so much on purpose.  (She and I share the same birthday.)  Nicole was the name of one of Dad's French professors.

 Morning person or night owl? 
      N: Morning person.

 
What do you do for a living?

      N: Poop Wrangler.

 
What is your favorite thing to do?

       N:  Eat lunch outside in the shade (at a table) and read a book.

What is the first thing you noticed about Brian?

       N: His eyes - I couldn't hear what he was saying to me if he was looking right at me.

What is your super power?

       N: My sense of smell. Unfortunately, most of the time.

What is your favorite meal?

      N: It depends on the season, but I always look forward to turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato souffle... Thanksgivin'!

 
What is your favorite treat?

      N: Dr. Pepper. Lays deli potato chips and Ranch dip.

Who or what is your nemesis?

      N: The cats who poop in my flower beds.

 
What do you do best?

      N:  I finish what I start.

What is your most over-used word or phrase?

      N:  "You know what I mean?" "For crying out loud!"

 
Who is your favorite muppet?

      N: Cookie Monster.

 
What do you want to do or accomplish in the next 10 years?

      N:  Take a family history trip to Europe, learn to speak French the rest of the way, get a degree in genealogy (it exists!), raise great kids, write a book.  There's more, but that's enough for now. :)


The Interview with Brian Nielsen Kunze

     Where do your first and middle names come from?
      Brian:  My Mom found the name Brian in a book and liked that it means "strong" since I was such a big baby (10 lbs).  Nielsen comes from my Mom's Uncle Nielsen Clark.

  Morning person or night owl? 
      B: I used to be a night owl, but now I look forward to my 9pm bedtime.

 
What do you do for a living?

      B: Computer Software Engineer.

 
What is your favorite thing to do?

       B:  Ski, ride my bike.


What is the first thing you noticed about Nicole?

       B: Her confidence.

What is your super power?

       B: My blue eyes around older women.  And I have a great sense of direction.

What is your favorite meal?

      B: Steak, baked potato, roasted asparagus.

      B: My Mom's lemon bars.

      B: Right now it's a guy named Allen at work.

      B:  I get along with people well - even difficult personalities.

      B:  Keep being happy, raise good kids.

     Bridget: "Because you wanted me to be Bridget."
     Emil:  Grandpa Kunze (and the five plus generations of Emil Kunzes before him) and Dad.

What is your favorite thing to do?
     Bridget: "Ride bikes with my Daddy."    
     Emil:  Chill out with my blankie and my binky and watch Thomas.
     Colin:  Get chased.

     Bridget: "Chicken Noodle Soup.  Put noodles in it and chicken, carrots, chicken... wait - I think I already did chicken.  Put it on the stove in a pot."     
     Emil:  Watermelon.

What is your favorite toy and/or hobby?
     Bridget: "My butterfly purse."
     Emil:  Anything I can throw down the stairs.

     Bridget: "Disneyland. Grandma and Grandpa Kunze's house."
     Emil:  Mama and Daddy's bathroom.

     Bridget: "Hair in the bathroom sink."
     Emil:  Nothing grosses me out.
     Colin:  The first bite of every meal.

     Bridget: "Help take care of the boys, clean the house, feed the boys."

     Colin:  I'm always with my brother.

     Bridget: "He works at... somewhere.  Paying for money?"

     Where do your first and middle names come from?
      Jen:  Well, my first name comes from Jennie Lake in Wyoming.  That's what I've been told.  It's actually Jennie Lee Lake.  And obviously Carol is Grandma's name.

      J: Morning person.

What do you do for a living?

      J: Slave of the Universe.  Human Doormat.

What is your favorite thing to do?

       J:  Curl up with a good book.

What is the first thing you noticed about Ben?

       J: I don't know if I can describe it... his shyness combined with his being super talented and capable.  Quiet confidence.  I don't know if there is a word for it.  Maybe in Chinese...

What is your super power?

       J: My sense of smell.

      J: It's going to depend on the weather.

      J: Chocolate

      J: Cat pee.

Where do your first and middle names come from?
      Ben:  I don't know where my first name comes from... Benji the Dog?  King Benjamin!  Gerald is my father's name.

      B: Night owl.

What do you do for a living?

      B: Stare at a computer all day. [Architect]

What is your favorite thing to do?

       B:  Play the piano.

       B: Her voice.

       B: I can focus and cancel out all distractions.  I can take a nap in the middle of a lot of commotion.

      B: Peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

      B: Let's see... Actually I'm not really good at anything.  Variety.

     Taylor: Grandpa Curtis.

What is your favorite thing to do?
     Taylor: Music.
     Ethan:  Basketball, lacrosse, and any other sport or outdoorsy activity.
     Weston: Soccer.

     Taylor: Fried rice.  Fry leftover rice with butter and chopped veggies.
     Ethan:  Fish.  Catch it in the river, de-bone and gut, rip off the head, take home and fry in butter and cornmeal.

The Interview with "Grandma" Peggy Marilyn Furniss Lee:


Where do your first and middle names come from?
      Grandma PeggyMy Grandma Furniss's name was Winnifred and her family would tease her by calling her "Winnepeg" which became "Peg" for short, so Peggy was kind of in her honor and the famous singer at the time,"Peggy Lee."  Marilyn was a name my Mom wanted.  She also wanted to name me Jeanne after her favorite Young Women leader, but there was a woman in my Dad's office named Jeanne and he didn't want her to think he'd named his daughter after her.   
 
Morning person or night owl? 
     GP: Definitely morning.  I cannot do night at all! 


What do you do for a living?
       GP: Teach piano lessons, be a mom, grandma, and homemaker. 


What is your favorite thing to do?
       GP:  Travel with Grandpa (that's his least favorite!) and see grandchildren.

What is the first thing you noticed about Grandpa Bob?
       GP: His broad shoulders and pretty red hair.

What is your super power?
       GP: My sensitive palette.


What is your favorite meal?
      GP: It depends on the season... Roast chicken or turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy.


What is your favorite treat?
      GP: So many to choose from!  Sugar cookies.


Who or what is your nemesis?
      GP: Dirty bathrooms.


What do you do best?
      GP:  Plan and organize.  I can see how to organize in the most efficient way.  (Another super power!)

      GP:  "Crap"  "Well, okay"  "The problem is..."

      GP: NOT Miss Piggy.  I don't know them very well.  Maybe Kermit.


What do you want to do or accomplish in the next 10 years?
      GP:  Figure out retirement, pay off a house, move to a condo in South Ogden.

Where do your first and middle names come from?
      Grandpa BobIn high school my mother decided that if she ever had a boy she would name him Robert.  My middle name is my mother's maiden name.  
 
Morning person or night owl? 
     GB: Morning person.


What do you do for a living?
       GB: I'm a teacher and administrator.


What is your favorite thing to do?
       GB:  I really like to do family history stuff.  I also like to sing and find new ways to sing.

What is the first thing you noticed about Grandma Peggy?
       GB: That she looked like Robin Bellah, my third grade crush.

What is your super power?
       GB: Remembering the names and stats of old pro athletes.  I can also identify the person speaking in voice-over work.


What is your favorite meal?
      GB: Soup.  I don't like to have to work when I'm eating.


What is your favorite treat?
      GB: I really like to take Sprite and vanilla ice cream and blend it together until it's almost a solid.


Who or what is your nemesis?
      GB: An open bag of Kettle chips.


What do you do best?
      GB: That's a tough call.  I cannot say.  Not that I won't say, I can't.  When I want to, I can listen well.
